The Rotary Club of Kiwatule will celebrate 15 years since its charter over the independence weekend, 6th-8th October. As is the Club's tradition, on this special occasion every year, the Club gives back to the communities that have gifted their best to be Kiwatule's leaders, its Presidents.
This is affectionately called the 'Kashanda spirit' inspired by the little village in Ntungamo, where PP Josephat Nuwabeine hails from. Kashanda, hosted the first Charternite Mega Medical Camp during Josephat's term in office. The Kashanda spirit is what triggered the now Rotary worldwide famous 'Rotary Family Health Days' RFHDs during the era of the Future Vision of Rotary, when RI shifted its emphasis to the so called '6 areas of focus, and the old D9200 was designated a pilot district for its implementation.
Kamulegu Medical Camp - Masaka
In addition to a Medical Camp to be carried out at Kamulegu Health Centre III; (a) A modern placenta pit constructed at Kamulegu Health Centre III with the active participation and contribution of the Kamulegu Community will be commissioned, (b) Officially launch Kiwatule's Mission Green tree planting activities and (c) later be hosted to a Home Hospitality by the President's family.
Sunday, 8th October, 2017 Starting with Mass at Kaddugala, (9:00am); (d) Trees will be planted at a Small local church patronised by Mzee Manueli Kabenge Sr. (PP. Fabian Kasi's dad), (e) Commission a borehole sank in his village and later be hosted to a luncheon by the old man. (f) Rotarians are collecting reuse-able clothes and other household items to be distributed to the less advantaged both in Kamulegu and Kaddugala
