Letshego, IHSU win inaugural Rotary 5-a-side

Letshego, a financial services firm and Rotaract Club of International Health Sciences University (IHSU) emerged champions of the inaugural Rotary 5-a-side Football Tournament that was held on Saturday 26^th September 2015 at Lugogo Hockey Ground.

 

The tournament that attracted 30 teams from around the country was being held to raise money for Rotary community service projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged people in the community.

 

Letshego emerged champions in the Rotary category after beating Rotary Club of Hoima Kitara 2-0 in the finals. Rotary Club of Kampala Ssesse beat Rotary Club of Kampala South 5-1 in the 3 place play-off. Letshego won 2.5m whilst Rotary Club of Hoima Kitara won 1.5m with all prize money going to Rotary community service projects.

 

In the Rotaract category, Rotaract Club of IHSU beat Rotarac Club of Kampala University to win 1.5m for their community service project. Kampala University won 1m. Rotaract Club of Kyambogo beat Rotaract Club of Makerere University in the third place play-off 3-0.

 

Anne Begumisa, President of the Rotary Club of Kiwatule, declared the tournament a success and thanked Rotarians and Rotaractors for turning up in large numbers to participate in the tournament and supporting their teams.
