Mr. Robert kabushenga talks about the Uganda Cranes Initiative
Mr. Robert Kabushenga, CEO Newvision also a founder member of Uganda Cranes Initiative (UCI); on the plight of Uganda Cranes and the efforts of UCI to address status and plans.
According to former Uganda Cranes coach, Mr. Bobby Williamson, the Uganda cranes players are as good or even better than some of the top players on the African continent, shared Robert Kabushenga. The challenge is that they lack the support facilities and equipment such as modern soccers balls, specialist services such as those of physiotherapists that the top footballing nations have. This is precisely the goal of UCI, to ensure that the Uganda Cranes, Uganda's national team has access to important facilities and has the prerequisite preparations to be able to compete effectively on the African camp and World stage, according to Robert.
UCI was formed immediately after Uganda failed to qualify for the recently concluded 2013 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations on the
premise that Uganda had yet again failed to progress to the final's of Africa's top football competition.
Robert called upon all present in the fellowship to support the efforts of the Cranes and to stay tuned to UCI's activities. UCI will be launching their new strategy after Uganda Cranes's game aganist Senegal's Teranga Lions, scheduled for 7th September in Morocco. All the best Uganda Cranes, kudos Uganda Cranes Initiative.
