Dear Rotarians,

As we come to the close of the half year of Rotary, allow me to thank you for living up to our theme of total involvement. November was a busy month for not only the club but the entire Rotary Fraternity in Uganda. It started with the TRF seminar, where the club was represented. In the same month the club elected the new leaders at a Club Assembly and the climax was the Governor’s visit which was a success by many standards.

As the rest of Ugandans ran for water in the MTN Marathon, the Rotary Club of Kiwatule “ran so she can learn”. From this run, the club raised five million shillings which was handed over to Concern for the Girl Child in support of their activities aimed at improved the plight of the Girl Child. Running past the finish line at the 10km race was very gratifying for many of us and later on handing over the cheque to the beneficiaries at the movie fellowship at Cineplex on 27th November. Bravo my members!

As you might all know, December is Family of Rotary Month and as Rotarians we are  called upon to re-ignite the family bondage within and without Rotary. Let us re-engage our families to make them feel as part of Rotary, not as outsiders.

As the tradition of the club we shall exchange gifts with our Friends of the Year on 18th December and when buying a gift for your friend, empathize, and if you feel that the gift you are about to buy makes you smile, then probably it will make your friend smile too and the opposite is true. Bring your family members along to be part of the planned activities for the month, which include among others the Afrigo Dance, the Soul Orchestra Christmas Presentations and the Family Day out.

As I sign out, allow to thank each and every one of you for engaging Rotary and Changing Lives.
