As such, the next TRF contributions by members of RCK & RCMI will be towards the implementation of this Project over the next few months. |
RC KIWATULE’S NAKYESSANJA (KAWANDA) MEDICAL OUTREACHAs part of the RC Kiwatule’s tradition, the sitting President hosts a Medical outreach Camp at his / her village. And to crown it all, she plans to have a state-of-the-art library as the legacy of her Presidency, to the natives of Nakyessanja... |

Medical outreach in Kisowera!Friends, The 2 day medical outreach at Kisowera Primary School and Nama Subcounty was a great success. Preliminary statistics indicate that we attended to 2,400 patients. The home hospitality at Mzee Fabiano's home was also marvelous, we dined, wined and danced but more importantly we provided urgent medical attention to the community in the true spirit of "service above self". |

Five Reasons to Give to the Rotary Foundation |
Cancer Run: my moment
For the last three months, we have been engaged in organising the third edition of the
Rotary Cancer Run. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that giving starts from heart. It doesnt matter how much you have, as long as you appreciate the need to give.
My winner was the banana vendor who from her meagre earning felt it was worthy of her to contribute to this noble cause. The twenty thousand she gave was worth a million shillings to me.
That night I got more zeal to continue soliciting for more runners.
Come next year, I will do exactly the same.

Family of Rotary Directorate at workThis month, March 2014, the Family of Rotary Directorate designated days on which club members would visit the families of the members who had recently been blessed with children. On Saturday 15th March 2014, a delegation led by PP Robert H. Kiggunddu visited Club Secretary Molly Kirungi - Rukundo and offered heartfelt congratulations upon the birth of a lovely baby boy, MARK. At this visit, wine was shared, KFC was eaten and the music deejay talents of Selector PP Fabby were revealed. On Friday 21st March 2014, a team led by President Florence, flanked by Charter President George, Past Presidents Godfrey Semugooma and Robert Kiggundu as well as Club member Malcolm Mpamizo visited Mariah Namigadde and her family bearing good tidings of joy and congratulations on the birth of Baby KABUYE. On Saturday 22nd March 2014, the members gathered at the home of Rtn. Paul Kagaba to congratulate him and his wife (Past Rotaractor) Ramlah Karen Kagaba on the birth of their baby girl ADELE. Here, the selector was at his best again with wonderful entertainment and sharing the joy of a new birth.

Know Your Money Fellowship at RC KiwatuleThe LIONS cell at RC Kiwatule hosted a very vibrant fellowship on Wednesday 19th March 2014 where Hassan Nyangabyaki from the Bank of Uganda was speaking to the members about the features of the new generation of money notes that was released by Bank of Uganda. The presentation not only helped identify features that indicate that a bank note is fake or valid, but also explained the rationale behind some of the features which are designed to aid the blind in recognition of bank notes. Later that day, the club was treated to a 'Blast from the past' photo collection with very unflattering and also revealing photos of the club members from 20 years ago.

PAG Joel Sekabembe at the Rotary Club of Kiwatule fellowship! To celebrate the 'Fellowship month', PAG Joel gave a presentation on the 12 aspects of Fellowship. Did you know for instance that a toast is never "given" but "proposed"? Are you aware that 'guests' are only properly introduced if their full name is given, their place of abode disclosed, what they do for a living and where they do it from are known, whether they are married or not? Nice job PAG, we left Kabira Country Club better informed about the fellowship we'd just attended and certain that Rotary is not 'Over'! |
